AIB publishes annual residual grid emission factors for European countries aligned to the reporting requirement under the market-based approach in the GHG Protocol scope 2 guidance.

When to use

Any country included in the AIB data set has Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) that meet the Scope 2 guidance's quality criteria, meaning that market-based reporting is required alongside location-based. The residual emission factors should be applied to any electricity consumption for which there is no tariff-specific emission factor available.
