When to use

These factors should be used for calculating emissions resulting from activities such as:

  • Stationary fuel combustion
  • Mobile combustion of various fuels by various vehicle types across model years (including Transportation & Distribution methods)
  • Purchased electricity
  • Steam and heat usage
  • Waste generated across end-of-life treatment methods
  • Refrigerant leaks

To ensure regional alignment, these calculations should be done for activities that ideally occurred within the United States.
